Is Your Child Getting Enough Sleep?

teaching
Sleep plays an essential role in a child’s development and health. That being said, it’s important for children to get enough restorative sleep each night to reach optimum levels of performance and functionality during waking hours.

Still, plenty of school-aged children find it difficult to get enough shuteye every night, just as much as adult do.

If you think your child isn’t getting enough sleep, these signs will help you identify if there’s a problem, so you can contact your child’s pediatrician ASAP.

Your child might be sleep deprived if:

  • They have trouble waking up in the morning
  • They exhibit irritable behavior
  • They seem overly emotional or moody
  • They are hyperactive
  • They have a difficult time concentrating at their Children’s Center in Liberty Hill Texas
  • They have trouble staying awake during the day

As a licensed child development center in Liberty Hill TX, we’ve had students that have been affected by sleep deprivation before. It affected the way they performed during activities and assignments, as well as the way they interacted with their peers during playtime.

The best way to help you child get enough sleep at night is to establish a consistent bedtime routine with them. Help them go to bed and wake up at the same hours every day, and make sure they get at least 8 hours of sleep every night.

At Hilltop Children’s Center, we are dedicated to providing our kids with high-quality care and education services that will help them achieve their dreams and aspirations later in adulthood.
